Growing your own Meal Worm farm is simple and can be fun and very rewarding.  The easiest way to get started is to acquire all of the supplies you will need.

**A very small set of plastic drawers- 3 or 4 is ideal. (Each drawer being 12"L x 12"W x 3"D )
**Bedding- Any or all of the following: Oat meal, Oat Bran, Barely, Wheat Germ, Dry Baby Cereal, Tomato Powder, Vitamin C, Acidophilus, Flax seed, Lecithin, Yam powder, carrot powder.
**Something for hydrating your insects- Fluker's Gel, Potato Slice, Carrot, or Sweet potato, etc. (Be sure to check your water source frequently for mold- and remove PROMPTLY).
**Your Meal Worms.

In the top drawer, place an inch of bedding, the water supplement, and your worms. Keep them in a warm place and soon you will see Pupas appear. Place these in the 2nd drawer on top of just enough bedding to barely cover the bottom. Check the pupas regularly- as they turn into beetles, place them into the 3rd drawer with an inch of bedding and water source.   If you have a 4th drawer, You can use it to place your biggest and best mealies that will be fed to your Gliders soon.

Instead of the regular bedding- place a layer of only the BEST for your Glider. My personal mix is the powdered versions of Alfalfa, Kelp, Spirulina, Chlorella, Wheat Grass, Barley Grass, Bee Pollen, Papaya, just a bit of the regular bedding, and a baby peeled carrot for water. This mix has kept my Gliders a Healthy and Beautiful Rich color.

Make sure you change the beetles bedding once a week. The bedding you change out will have 100's of eggs and/or baby worms. Place that bedding in with your meal worms.

This way you'll have a constant supply of Giant Meal Worms, pupas, Beetles, and growing worms.

This is what I use as bedding for mealies that will be fed to the Gliders in the next couple days- and this is what I refer to in my article...
